Episode 092 - The Hateful Eight (70MM Roadshow version)
Quentin Tarantino's latest opus arrives with about as much fanfare and drama as you'd expect from Hollywood's Chief-provocateur-in-charge. The Hateful Eight, began as a stage play (but only after having its screenplay leaked online), then became a three-hour-plus monster and ultimately was released as a special "roadshow" highlighting the film's unique use of 70MM lenses last put to use in 1966. This, of course, required dozens of theaters to retrofit their theaters to show the film (having all spent thousands over the last few years to convert to digital projection). So, was it worth it? Is The Hateful Eight worth a look?
